Contact your local Leukaemia Foundation Business Relationship team to register your team and ask for suggestions of successful fundraising ideas. Call us on 1800 500 088.

If you’re planning on having many teams around the state or around the country, call us on 1800 500 088 and we can set up each team under one national team umbrella.

One person should be the team captain for each business team. They have control over the team’s public page on our website, and can send emails to all of the team members!

2. Set a goal and recuit your team members.

Set a fundraising goal and remember the more you raise the more patients and families we can help. You can set a goal for the whole team and challenge other teams to see who raises the most.

Get as many people as you can to join your team.

As Team Captain we'll send you everything you need for your event including the official books of receipts you need.

3. Decide on a time and place.

Lots of businesses hold their own shave event from a small gathering at the office to a full-on stage show. Contact your local Leukaemia Foundation Business Relationship team to ask for suggestions for making your event a success. Call us on 1800 500 088.

If you prefer to be part of a public event – check the locations listed on this website.

4. Collect sponsorship

Ask colleagues, suppliers, customers or friends to sponsor members of your team.

Cash and cheques

  • Asking face-to-face is very successful
  • We’ll provide you with an official book of receipts to give to sponsors who give you cash or cheque
  • We’ll also give you a bank deposit slip so you can take your fundraising to the bank.
  • Ask your business to consider dollar-matching the amount raised by staff
  • It’s best to ask people to give you their money straight away, as it’s harder to ask for the money afterwards.

It’s even easier online

  • Send emails from your Fundraising Page – sign in and click Get Sponsors.
  • The email contains a link directly to your page, so people can sponsor you with the credit card – they get an email receipt straight away – easy!
  • Sponsors can also search for you or your team from the home page of this website – search now
  • Our site allows people to sponsor a team member individually or the team as a whole.
  • Our site accepts sponsorships from individuals and from organizations – tax receipts are issued directly by email.

6. Bank the funds you've raised

Many businesses will dollar-match funds raised by employees - will yours?

Don't forget to bank your hard-earned fundraising dollars as well as return your receipt books.

We decide the Top 30 based on funds banked by the end of May each year.

For 2010 – that’s Monday 31 May at close of business.
