Dr. Matt Agnew has shaved his head for blood cancer

22 Feb 2022

Australia's favourite Astrophysicist and 2019 Bachelor Dr Matt Agnew has made it his goal to help make an impact in the Leukaemia Foundation's effort to beat blood cancer.

"I am working with the Leukaemia Foundation to urge Aussies to make it their mission to defeat blood cancer by signing up to World’s Greatest Shave, just like me."

He has also donated his luscious locks to be made into a wig for Aussies suffering from medically-induced hair loss.

At the beginning of February, Dr. Matt got the pleasure of meeting Noah — a 9-year-old boy and space fan from Melbourne who was diagnosed with anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) in 2019.

“I had the honour and pleasure of hanging out with Noah for the day and got to answer all of his deepest questions and curiosities about space, while learning what it’s like to live — and grow up with — blood cancer. His bravery and courage is a source of inspiration for me, and meeting him reminded me exactly why I’m shaving my head, and who I’m shaving my head for.”

We want to thank Dr. Matt for braving the shave in 2022, and for his ongoing support as we enter another exciting shave week in March.
