Let's get shaving at your work
Invite everyone at work to colour or shave their hair to help Aussies with blood cancer.
Tie it in with a staff BBQ lunch or late afternoon drinks.
Tap up your clients, too.
Don’t just keep it in-house. Invite clients, suppliers and families of employees to get behind the cause.
Keep it simple
Your shave event can be as simple or sophisticated as you want.
We have a host kit packed with ideas and tools to help you.
Hold an auction
Auction off the right to shave the brave!
People who shave raise more for the cause – so be brave!
Make sure everyone wears colour in their hair on the day! Try hair chalk, hair spray or coloured gels.
Get the guys to wax – it’s great fun to see the boys in pain for a change – this can raise big bucks from the girls.
Add face paint
If the older men are bald already – get creative on their melon-heads!

World's Greatest Shave is good for business!
World's Greatest Shave is lots of laughs and great for team building.
Today, 35 Australians will be given the devastating news that they have leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma or a related blood disorder.
World’s Greatest Shave is your chance to help them by raising vital funds for the Leukaemia Foundation’s important work.
Help us to provide practical and emotional support for families free of charge, and to invest millions of dollars in research to improve treatments and find cures.
Taking part builds teamwork and staff morale. Everyone at every level can take part and it’s a fun way to engage clients, customers and suppliers.
The event creates fantastic photo opportunities to include in newsletters, your annual report, website and social media.
Businesses in the past have identified potential leaders from their team captains.
Plus they’ve seen the benefits of working together on a project ‘outside of their work roles’.
Appoint a Team Captain to sign up and get your team started!
It really motivates everyone at work if they know that the boss will double what they donate to your shave!
Check to see if the company you work for runs a dollar matching scheme and make sure you apply for a share. If not, ask them to consider starting a scheme for World’s Greatest Shave!
Don't forget Super Teams are also a great way of 'clubbing together' with interstate branches or sites to combine your fundraising into one grand total nationally. It’s even easier for the company to make a donation to support everyone’s efforts – get out that corporate credit card!
Make sure you tell us if your company wants to donate, dollar match or set up a Super Team – call 1800 500 088.
Executives and CEOs to take the lead and unite to shave.
Meet Icon Group’s Mark Middleton
CEO of cancer care specialists, Icon Group, Mark Middleton was one of our brave senior execs who answered the call.
Mark said his shave continues to be a talking point amongst staff and clients.
“From a business perspective, something like World’s Greatest Shave is an excellent motivator. As an organisation, I believe we have a responsibility to give back, and this is something the whole staff group can embrace (not to mention the ribbing that’s still going on!).”
“I’d recommend this to any Executive looking to gather their troops and, at the same time, fundraising to beat a disease that touches so many of us here in Australia.”
“Once you begin talking about blood cancer, you’ll be surprised just how many people in your office have a family connection - a story to tell.”
“I feel that as a CEO, I can use my position to shake up discussion about blood cancer,” said Mark. “The bald head is a great conversation starter, not only with staff but amongst our client groups, suppliers and business partners as well.”
Mark didn’t shave alone, also joined by leading haematologist Dr James Morton, as well as staff members from around the country who put up their hand to be brave and shave in support of the patients they care for, and everyone who has been touched by blood cancer.
Dr Morton was in fact the treating haematologist of Eric Graydon who inspired the first ever ‘Shave for a Cure’ in Lismore back in 1998.
Today, World’s Greatest Shave continues to fund vital research and practical support for people living with blood cancer.
A huge thank you to all the workplaces around Australia joining in World’s Greatest Shave – you’re doing an amazing job!
