So, you’re ready to be brave and Shave? That’s awesome! Signing up for World’s Greatest Shave is super easy, and in just a few steps, you’ll be on your way to helping families facing blood cancer.
Follow this step-by-step guide (alongside this video) to get started today!
Step 1: Click the sign up button
You’ve made it this far—you’re on the site! Now, simply click the Sign Up button to join our community.
Step 2: Create your profile
Fill in your personal details to set up your fundraising page. This includes your name and contact information.
Step 3: Choose how you’ll be involved
Are you Shaving, Cutting, or Colouring your hair? Select the option that best suits your bold move.
Lock in a date for your big Shave, Cut, or Colour, and make it an event! Whether it’s at home, work, or in a public space, inviting people to watch (or join in!) makes the experience even more special.
Set a fundraising goal! Every dollar counts, and having a clear target will motivate your supporters to help you reach (or exceed!) it.
You can sign up as an individual, team, or workplace to rally even more support.
Step 4: Customise your fundraising page
Personalising your page makes it more engaging for potential donors! We'll guide you through key questions, like why are you Shaving, Cutting or Colouring your hair, and how many years have you been participating?
Upload your before photo and, most importantly, add your personal story. We'll provide a suggestion but adding a personal touch will make it more compelling.
Step 5: Kick start your fundraising
Give your fundraising a strong start by donating to yourself! Your donation can:
- $53 – Fund essential laboratory-grade glassware for research
- $80 – Provide the first night of accommodation for a regional family
- $150 – Support a PhD research scholarship for a day
- Or a random amount your comfortable with
Every contribution helps fund life-saving blood cancer research and support families in need.
Step 6: Share your page and start fundraising
Once your page is live, spread the word! Share your fundraising page via social media, email, and word of mouth to get friends, family, and colleagues on board. The more you share, the more donations you’ll receive!
Use your dashboard to:
- Download or share custom fundraising tiles featuring your event date, fundraising progress, or how you’re participating.
- Print fundraising posters to display at school, work, or in your community.

Make an impact with your profile
Your World's Greatest Shave profile includes some fun features to boost engagement:
- Polls: Set up a poll and let your supporters vote! Should you pick a bold hair colour? Go for a dramatic cut? Keep the colour for a week? Let your donors decide!
- Checkpoint Feature for Teams: Set stretch goals with fun incentives. For example, if a school team reaches $50K, a teacher shaves their head. At $60K, the principal joins in!
- Updates: Keep donors engaged by sharing fundraising milestones and progress.
- Before & After Photos: Keep fundraising beyond your Shave, Cut, or Colour date until 30 June. Upload your after photo and share it on social media with a donation reminder.
