I'm fundraising for the World's Greatest Shave
Blood cancer is Australia's hidden cancer crisis. There are 140,000 families facing blood cancer right now. And it takes the lives of 16 Australians every day.
Cancer is a heartache in every form and affects every family in someway. In 2013, my aunty lost her battle to Leukaemia although she wasn’t just my aunty. First she was a mother, a sister, a daughter, a wife and overall an amazing woman.
Helping a person and a family with their battle is difficult. Although there are little things that everyone can do to help, big or small, one step at a time. From the moment I learnt the type of effect that cancer has on someone’s life I wanted to help.
In light of this, I will be chopping half of my hair off in hopes of raising money for families and research. My hair will then be donated in hopes of assisting someone that needs or wants it more than I do.
Donating may not be within everyone’s means, although reading, sharing and raising awareness is the best thing anyone can do.
