We're fundraising for the World's Greatest Shave

Where's My Hair? Why do bad things happen to the best people?

I just don't get it! Sarah has 2 different types of Blood Cancer an extremely rare blood cancer called Erdheim Chester Disease (ECD) and Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukaemia (CMML).
There are only 900 people in the world registered with Erdheim Chester Disease Global Alliance and 24 of those are in Australia. Sarah spent almost a year undergoing invasive tests and scans before she was diagnosed in 2021. She suffers lethargy, pain and has very low immunity. There is no cure for ECD and medications aren't approved in Australia and are very expensive.
Luckily some pharma companies provide these medications on compassionate grounds.. Having the two conditions treatment was complicated as it is unknown how one will affect the other and at any time the Leukaemia can turn from Chronic to Acute. So, what are you doing about it you may ask us? Well, as a team we are raising money for the Leukaemia Foundation by participating in the World's Greatest Shave and fundraising throughout the year.

We have a huge goal which is to raise $10,000 by March 2025 and we would really appreciate if you could help support us to help thousands of Australians who are dealing with blood cancer. Where's my Hair? Is a double entendre for those that endure the loss of their hair due to cancer treatments and it's our team's name. We don't live in the same state, so if you follow us on social media, you'll see that no matter what we are doing we are together! Throughout 2024 we will be living life to the fullest and taking each other on small adventures, so the question is always …. Where's my Hair? We will be holding an official event in March 2025 where Sarah will shave Elaine's head and Elaine will colour Sarah's hair. Every month Elaine will have an official hair measure so we can see how long her hair grows before it's shaved. We intend to donate the hair to Sustainable Salons to hopefully help make a wig. Please give to our cause to give Australians dealing with blood cancer life-changing practical and emotional support. And to fund critical research, bringing us closer to the day when zero lives are lost to blood cancer. Will you be part of our World's Greatest Shave community and donate to my team page? Your donation means that together, we're working to stop blood cancer in its tracks.
Any amount – big or small – will make a real, tangible difference. Thank You Sarah & Elaine
