Shaving my head for a great cause
When my younger sister was 25 years old, she was diagnosed with cancer. Because of advances in treatments thanks to fundraising efforts such as this, doctors were able to provide targeted treatment options as well as chemotherapy. This meant my sister successfully went into remission. I am eternally grateful that 15 years later, I still have a sister.
Not every family gets to have a happy ending to a story like this, but with more funding and more research, more families can. And as much as I love my hair, I love my sister more! If shaving my head means helping more people like her, it's absolutely worth it.
