Newly diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma at 39, I'm fundraising for the World's Greatest Shave
In May 2024, my life took a sudden and unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. This rare blood cancer is not only incurable but also exceptionally uncommon in someone of my age. Since May I have been facing chemotherapy and treatment while managing the physical, emotional, and financial toll on both myself and my family.
As part of my treatment plan, I will soon face the reality of losing my hair. Embracing this change, I've made the decision to shave it off in October to prepare for upcoming high-dose chemotherapy. In conjunction with this personal challenge, I am also participating in the World's Greatest Shave fundraiser. This initiative has garnered support from family, friends, and even youth members of our Scout Group, who are volunteering to cut or shave their hair in solidarity.
This upcoming World's Greatest Shave fundraiser holds special significance as we stand together in solidarity. Your donation, no matter the size, will make a tangible difference in funding research, supporting patients, and spreading hope. Join me in making a meaningful impact and supporting this vital cause. Together, we can bring light and strength to those facing similar challenges. Thank you for your generosity and compassion.

Stay strong, Andrea. We remember first meeting you and your family at Everton Park Scouts. Do you remember being the first girl Joey Scout there? A great journey to GL at Ripley.

Wishing you the best throughout your next round of treatment Andrea. Discovered your page when my mum found your account after she got diagnosed with MM in August. She’s started her clinical trial today and you have been an inspiration and support through what was/is a scary unknown for her and our family.
