Why I’m Taking Part in the World’s Greatest Shave
Right now, over 150,000 Australians are facing the devastating impact of blood cancer, and 17 people lose their life every single day. That’s why I’m stepping up to take part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave but for me, this cause is deeply personal.
Last year, I was diagnosed with bowel cancer, a battle that completely changed my perspective on life and the importance of medical research and support. But cancer isn't just a recent part of my story, it runs deep in my family. Breast cancer has taken its toll on multiple generations, making this fight against all forms of cancer one that is incredibly close to my heart.
This year, it’s a family effort. My son is shaving his head, and my daughter is cutting and donating her hair for wigs, a small but powerful way we can give back to those facing the toughest fight of their lives.
