In honour of my brother-in-law Bradley John Jones, I will be shaving my head at The World’s Greatest Shave.
I do this in the hope to raise money, raise awareness and to help find a cure for the insidious disease ‘Mast Cell Leukemia’.
Bradley was diagnosed with Mast Cell Leukemia in March last year after being unwell for months before.
Mast Cell Leukemia is a rapidly progressing condition that leads to the build-up of mast cells in your bone marrow and other tissues. It falls into a group of diseases collectively known as Systemic Mastocytosis. Mast Cell Leukemia is the rarest form, making up less than 1 percent of all cases of Systemic Mastocytosis.
Bradley faced an unimaginable battle with this awful disease. Despite the pain and challenges he endured, he never lost his strength, determination or dignity.
Devastatingly, on the 1st of August last year, Bradley passed away. He was only 43.
Bradley left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. While he may no longer be with us physically, his memory will forever live in our hearts and we will continue to honour his fight.
Brad was a loving husband, father, son, brother and grandson.
