I'm fundraising for the World's Greatest Shave
IT'S DONE! After 25 glorious years of long locks, I buzzed my hair in support of the Leukaemia Foundation for World's Greatest Shave on 31st May 2024. I feel a mix of emotions and am still getting used to the new buzzed look. Although I only originally planned to raise $5000, I've raised nearly $11,000 with the support of loved ones, colleagues, mutual friends, old friends, students and strangers and I am so so grateful. If you'd still like to support, donations will still be accepted. Perhaps we can make it to $11,000? Your generous donation will transform lives and provide families facing blood cancer with the vital support, care, and information needed to navigate the scary and uncertain moments. While I haven't been impacted by blood cancer, my Mum's battle with breast cancer in 2017 confronted me with the devastating impact of cancer on people and their loved ones. As my head was shaved, I thought of her and other friends who've had to navigate the exhausting, heartbreaking and anxiety-ridden journey cancer often brings. I'm proud of myself and I'm proud of everyone who decided to donate in support of this cause - it will make a difference. Thank you so much!
