Please help us stand against blood cancer
Hi! I am your everyday, run of the mill sort of person that loves to twinkle on the piano and drink a whole lot of mango smoothies once in a while.
As a kid my goal was to always put a smile on other people's faces, but growing up made me realise that most of the time a smile wasn't enough. I have been very lucky to have never experienced any major health complications but many people are not as fortunate. Seeing millions of lives impacted by countless diseases including blood cancer is heartbreaking and it's our duty to help support them no matter how small the steps may be.
Now as a 2nd year university student, my goal is to do more than make smiles. My goal now is to help people in any way I can. I know it may be a childish idea, but it is one of the core reasons as to why I am studying medicine and why I am doing the World's Greatest Shave again! (and also why I am shaving my head for the 3rd year in a row...)
Blood cancer is a devestating disease that over 150,000 Australians must face today with approximately 17 people losing their life to it every single day. The World's Greatest Shave aims to support those affected by blood cancer which is why I do this each year as part of the CAMS club of Curtin Medical School.
Whether it be SHARING this page to other people, DONATING to fuel life-changing research projects and support services for patients and their families or JOINING this cause to raise funds and awareness for blood cancer. Please help support us!
As I said before, no matter the size, a step in the right direction is a step to changing the world.
